Today’s youth need to complete a rigorous course of study in high school whether they are pursuing college or a good job after high school.

The objective of the Nebraska Scholars Program is to encourage all high school students to complete a challenging course of study including lab sciences, algebra II, and other high-level classes that may not be required for graduation. Research indicates that when students complete a more rigorous course of study in high school they are more likely to graduate, to find better jobs right out of high school, or to continue on to college—resulting in higher lifetime earnings and better preparation for future opportunities.
